Milonga Criolla is an earlier form of Milonga, not the Milonga Porteña that we know today. Francisco Canaro’s ‘Milonga Criolla’ is a good example (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1n2vkEbjcy8). Even though this example contains a habanera there are portions of it where it does NOT engage a constant habanera rhytyhm. That’s the Criolla part. It’s one of the six major forms of tango music.
