Francisco Canaro (1888 to 1964) was one of the most prolific orchestra leaders of the Golden Age, recording tango, vals and milonga. He recorded about 3500 to 3700 songs in his career. His milongas, like ‘Milonga Criolla’, are classic examples of Argentine milonga music, and his steady rhythm makes him a common choice for a Milonga tanda. He is also the creator of SADIAC, the Argentine version of GEMA (in germany). This was a way for the works of the artist or composer to be legally protected and compensated.
