This is a way of describing a specific category of walks within Argentine Tango that can lead to Ochos, Turns, Crosses, Sacadas, Colgadas, and a host of other vocabulary. Crossed System, sometimes called ‘Cross’ System, refers to when a couple steps with the same foot at the same time > Lead Left with Follower Left, Lead Right with Follower Right. Think of this as ‘Same Foot’ walking. Engaging in Crossed System walking is really good tool for adding loads of variety to one’s dance in more ways than you can count.
