The Barrida is, in common vernacular, a ‘drag’ of the foot, and either role can initiate it. The technique is simple: a light pressure tap on the outside of the Follower’s free foot, on the 1st or 5th Metatarsal. From a Dancing Perspective the Barrida is nothing more than an illusion, and an expression of the articulation of the leg.
