This is, again, a different type of animal all together. In its simplest form, it is easiest to describe this as the opposite of a Type 4 Walk, or its kissing cousin > The OUTSIDE Snake Walk. So called this because the Lead is stepping outside of the Follower’s steps in an undulating foot path. In reality the Outside Snake walk is a Parallel System construct where the Lead steps with their LEFT and Follower steps with their Right (and vice versa). The only catch is that instead of the Lead stepping into the Follower’s free space with the (Left or Right), they step on the outside of the Follower’s standing foot. So if the Lead is stepping with their right, they would step on the outside of the Follower’s Left Foot as shown below. And then continue to do so, over and over and over again. It should be noted that the in the case of the Type 4 and 5 walk, the Follower’s walking pattern DOES NOT CHANGE. The Follower is continuing to step backward on two separate but equal walking paths (with their feet) that do NOT cross over the body’s natural meridian (as it would in Lazy or Milonguero Ochos).
