Milonga Traspie

Milonga Traspie is a ‘recent’ addition to Milonga.

Traspie refers to STYLE of Milonga dancing where the foot is placed on the floor as if it were on fly paper. The weight of the body is placed over that standing foot in less than 40% of one’s body weight. Not a full weight transfer. Think of it more like a touch-tap, and moving on to a full weight transfer.

The word ‘Traspie’ in Spanish, when translated to English, means ‘Stumble’. So in effect you are ‘stumbling’ when you dance Milonga Traspie.

Typically Milonga Traspie is danced accentuating the “El Golpe” note of the Habanera Rhythm.
