What is the Pause Library ? It’s a library of tango songs that have been visually marked so that you can see where the pauses are at in piece of tango music.
Why would you need this ? Because you can actually Dance to the Pauses! And once you do, you’ll never want to go back to dancing the phrases, or caring about them again. Not to mention, dancing the pauses, is FAR easier than memorizing phrases or trying to use some step, pattern, or figure from class on musical interpretation you took. Dancing the Pauses is far easier, and allows for greater flexibility and creativity!
Below is a small sampling of the hundreds of songs that are in the archive that I have pause-typed. These are just a few. I will add more to the repository as time goes by. Feel free to explore what’s here. Remember, that it takes a bit of time to hear the pause types. Lastly if you want a reminder about the pause types visit > The Five Pause Types Primer
