Type 6 Walk

A Type 6 Walk is a series of ideas called ‘Alternates’. This way of walking, again, only changes for the Lead, not for the Follower. And more importantly it is best defined as stepping with the Same Foot over and over and over again. Which is to say that if the Lead steps with their LEFT foot to start, they will keep stepping with that foot in every step that follows. The Follower on the other hand is led to walk backwards as they would normally in Parallel System. However there are some interesting and esoteric walking ideas that can happen when invoking a different walking system for the Follower when employing Alternates.

There are 7 Common Alternates:

Alternate ‘A‘ – Which is where the Lead continually steps into the Follower’s ‘Free’ Space of their walking paths. This is known as ‘Stepping Inside’.
Alternate ‘B‘ – This is where the Lead continually steps on the OUTSIDE of the Follower’s Step.
Alternate ‘C‘ – This is where the Lead combines Alternate ‘A’ and ‘B’, in that order and then continues to walk this walk. So effectively stepping INSIDE, then OUTSIDE, INSIDE, OUTSIDE, etc.
Alternate ‘D‘ – This is the opposite of Alternate ‘C’ in that it’s the reverse of it > Alternate ‘B’ to start instead of Alternate ‘A’.
Alternate ‘E‘ – This is where we invoke a pattern of INSIDE, INSIDE, OUTSIDE, OUTSIDE.
Alternate ‘F‘ – This is the opposite of ‘E’ as in > OUTSIDE, OUTSIDE, INSIDE, INSIDE.
Alternate ‘G‘ – This is where the Lead ‘Walks Across The Embrace‘ as it were starting on the outside, then stepping on the inside, then again the next inside step, and then finally the outer outside step.

All of these can be found in The 6 Ways of Walking.
